![]() In comparison to Lilac, what Carol lacks in speed she more than makes up for it in terms of mobility, as she feels more precise to control and her wall climbing allows her to skip past part of the levels that others have to go through (IMO, this also makes her the best character for exploration despite Milla being labeled as the Explorer type). It's pretty much your primary tool to do everything when playing as her, and is one of the best moves in the game. I still think giving her the Super Dragon boost from the first game would of been a better power-up, but I can understand if the devs might of thought that'd break the game on levels not designed for it.Ĭarol: Her Jump Disk is probably the single best improvement from FP1. Her power-up felt kinda weak though the projectiles gained from Energizer are pretty much useless because Lilac is a character designed to be attacking up-close, though it does speed up your energy recharging which means you can temporarily boost more often. Plus being able to cancel your Dragon Boost makes it more useful as a platforming tool. You can do a crazy amount of damage with the basic Cyclone>Dragon Boost> Boost Breaker combo on bosses, and the invincibility frames you get from Dragon Boosting makes it extremely reliable. Lilac: I thought Lilac was already great in the first Freedom Planet, but the Boost Breaker elevates her even higher. Overall I'd say it's either a toss up between Carol and Lilac, but here's my general opinion on all the characters: In the first Freedom Planet, Lilac was my clear favorite character gameplay-wise (Carol had moves that were too dependent on the stage like the Bike and Jump Pads and Milla's attacks were too slow), but in this game it's much harder decide. This concept was completely overhauled into the Syntax seen in the final builds and the original TV design was reused as the head of the Tankbot enemies.I've beaten the game with all 4 characters, and I have to say that congrats to the developers for how fun they made them all to play. In early drafts of Freedom Planet, Syntax was originally a floating TV monitor.Syntax has sharp spikes on the end of each of her arms, which she possibly used to brainwash Prince Dail in the opening cutscene.Syntax is one of the villains from the original game who returns in Freedom Planet 2, alongside Serpentine.A stronger version of the virus, called Code Black Version Two, was used to gain full control of Bakunawa. Code Black: A powerful virus that Syntax can upload, enabling her to hijack and control of enemy robots, proving very effective on Merga's robotic troops. This was demonstrated when she attempts to brainwash Milla back into the war-dog as she was originally intended to be, only to be thwarted by Team Lilac or Milla herself. Resonance Link: Syntax is capable of performing a link with someone originally from Brevon's planet, completely brainwashing them into the service of Lord Brevon.Teleportation: Syntax has a teleportation device that enables her to teleport from one place to another, allowing for quick travel.Armor Equip: Also programmed as a defense drone, Syntax is capable of equipping different types of armor and weapons to defend Brevon and his assets. ![]()
